2013 Ambassadors Inaugural Ball


Award winning South African adult contemporary recording artist Lira and prominent band Mi Casa will join celebrated West African DJ Anané Vega and Her Excellency Ambassador Tebelelo Seretse of the Republic of Botswana to the United States in a press meet and greet to formally announce their involvement in the 2013 Ambassadors Inaugural Ball. Taking place in Washington, DC in honor of United States President, Barack Obama following the official swearing in ceremonies on January 21, 2013. The illustrious event will be held at the The Mead Center for American Theater, Home of the Arena Stage . Acclaimed American DJ Biz Markie will be featured on the main stage, other VIPS and celebrities will be announced in the coming days.



Nine time South African Award Winner and BET International nominee, LIRA, is widely regarded as South Africa’s top adult contemporary artist. With a career spanning 9 years, the singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist has released four studio albums and two live DVD’s. Always wanting to push the envelope and be recognized as a global African Icon, LIRA is the first African artist to have released a Concert Film on Blu-ray in 2009.
